“We’ve kind of turned this (the chairman seat) into a team position. We don’t always agree, but we’re able to come to a consensus and move forward,” Young said.

The supervisors took care of a laundry list of resolutions and authorizations as part of its reorganizational meeting for the new year.

The county’s official depositories and maximum limits were approved as as follows:

First American Bank (Treasurer), Webster City, $12 million;

First State Bank (Treasurer), Webster City, $12 million;

First American Bank (Treasurer), Jewell, $2 million;

Iowa Falls State Bank (Treasurer), Williams, $2 million;

Firstar Bank (Treasurer), Stratford, $2 million;

Webster City Federal Savings Bank (Treasurer), Webster City, $4 million;

First American Bank (Auditor’s trust), Webster City, $100,000;

First American Bank (Recorder), Webster City, $100,000;

First State Bank (Sheriff), Webster City, $2 million;

First American Bank (Sheriff), Webster City, $2 million;

First American Bank (Conservation), Webster City, $500,000;

First State Bank (Conservation), Webster City, $500,000;

Webster City Federal Savings Bank (Nurses), Webster City, $200,000;

The Daily Freeman-Journal, the South Hamilton Record News and the Stratford Courier were named as the official county newspapers. The supervisors also authorized the county auditor to make budgeted transfers of county funds, authorized the county assessor to allow homestead exemptions, and gave the county treasurer the authority to invest county funds.

The list of secondary highway and bridge construction projects for 2012 were approved and the county engineer was authorized to determine the dates of closure of those sections of highway. The affected roadways include: 190th Street between Little Wall Lake Road and U.S. Interstate 35; 170th Street between Tollman Avenue and Ubben Avenue; Tollman Avenue between 250th Street and 260th Street; Ziegler Avenue between 370th Street and 380th Street; and Vail Avenue between 330th Street and 300th
